Departure around 9:00 am to reach Abu Simbel. We will arrive and settle you in your Nubian house / hotel, Kabara Nubian House (modest and typical).
Then, we will leave in the afternoon for the visit of two temples of Abu Simbel. The Abu Simbel Temples are two ancient Egyptian rock-cut temples located near Abu Simbel. There is the large temple and the small temple. They were built by Pharaoh Ramses II. The great temple is dedicated to the cult of Amon, Re, Ptah and the deified Ramses II. The facade is made up of four colossal statues of Ramses II seated…. The small temple is dedicated to the worship of the deified Nefertari. The facade is made up of six colossal statues of Ramses II and Nefertari.
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to join your small boat, you will settle on board your cruise ship SAI 6 cabins (boarding on Friday), includes 3 meals + mineral water, tea and coffee, unlimited infusions), lunch on board. Then browse in the direction of Kasr Ibrim (about 4 hours of navigation); in fact, Kasr Ibrim is the only remnant – not moved – where we will see the ruins of an ancient fortress and a basilica; (comments will be made from the deck of the boat). Dinner and night on board in one of the creeks of the region.
We will sail towards the temples of Amada. Arriving at the site around noon, we will therefore visit Amada – a very well preserved small temple dating from the 18th dynasty.
We will also visit the temple of Derr – whose bas-reliefs are almost identical to those of the great temple of Abu Simbel. Besides that, we will continue with the visit of the tomb dug in the rock, of Peinout (chief general of Nubia). Lunch.
Then we will pass through the regions of Korousko and its mountainous relief.
As well as Wadi el Arab, one of the largest valleys in the region which extends over several kilometres. We will spend the night in one of the creeks of Wadi el Arab. Dinner and overnight on board.
After breakfast, we will visit the temples of Wadi el Seboua (the Valley of the Lions), which was dedicated to the gods Amon-Rê, Rê-Horakhty, as well as the deified Ramses II, as well as the visit of the temple of Dakka dedicated to Thoth, and also, the visit of the Greco-Roman temple of Meharakka. Back on our boat; lunch on board. Then we will sail to spend the night in one of the bays of Khour El Alaki. Dinner and overnight on board.
After breakfast, we will take a morning sail to Aswan, where we will visit the Kalabsha temple. We will also see the chapel of Beit el Wali, carved into the rock, and dedicated to the young king Ramses II. Then, we will end with the kiosk of Kertassi also dedicated to the young king Ramses II. After that we will admire prehistoric bas-reliefs.
On one of these stones, this text, that it is a prayer was engraved by the decurion Maximos:
''Be kind, O Mandoulis, son of Zeus, and bow your head to me in assent! Save me and save my beloved wife and my dear children! I constantly appeal to You so that my companions and female slaves may be delivered from all disease and hard work, and so that we may return to our homeland. How happy are the people who live in the holy [city] of Talmis, loved by Mandoulis, the sun-god, and which is under the sovereign authority of Isis, the goddess with beautiful hair and many names!' .
And to conclude this day, we will contemplate the grandeur of the High Dam from our boat. Release of your cabin, departure from the port of the High Dam to reach Aswan.
